Ultherapy

What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-surgical treatment of the face, neck and decolletage that uses powerful ultrasound waves to catalyze a gradual remodelling and lifting effect.

Ultrasound energy targets the deeper structural layers of the skin (which are usually tangled during cosmetic surgery) without disrupting the skin’s surface. By stimulating the body’s natural renewal pathways and collagen production, the regenerative effect of this treatment should manifest over several months to achieve a natural looking result. It is an excellent option for those who are not surgical candidates yet desire discreet ways to enhance their appearance. Treatments are tailored to each patient’s needs.

What are the benefits of Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive rejuvenating treatment for the face, neck, chin and brow. The ideal Ultherapy candidate has skin that would benefit from improved firmness in these areas. Typically, those in their thirties and above who possess mild to moderate skin laxity are best suited to this approach.

How does Ultherapy work?
Ultherapy successfully addresses laxity by utilizing focused ultrasound energy to lift and tighten loose skin without downtime. It is the only non-surgical cosmetic treatment that utilizes ultrasound to stimulate collagen growth. It also is the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging which allows us to visualize the tissue targeted during treatment and ensure that ultrasound energy is deposited precisely to where it will be the most effective.

How safe is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy was cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration after demonstrating  its safety in numerous clinical studies. Over 100,000 treatments have been performed safely worldwide and ultrasound has an established track record with use in medical procedures for over fifty years.

What are the side effects of Ultherapy?
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment and a small percentage of patients may have mild swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch.

How long does it take to see results?
Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that gives skin an appearance of youthful vitality by maintaining tone and firmness. Ultherapy employs ultrasound to generate a thermal effect beneath the skin, initiating a reparative process that strengthens existing collagen and produces new collagen. Collagen production is gradual and results become apparent between three to six months.

How long do the results last?
Patients treated with Ultherapy continue to enjoy the effects of renewed collagen within a year following their first procedure, but skin will continue to age. Additional ‘touch up’ treatments will help keep pace with the natural aging process.

How long does each Ultherapy procedure last?
This procedure takes approximately one hour for most clients with no downtime.

How often should I have Ultherapy treatments?
The majority of patients sufficiently benefit from one session; however, some may require more than one treatment depending on the degree of laxity they possess and the rate of their body’s response to ultrasound energy and collagen stimulation.
